Frequently Asked Questions

I realise that for some, working with a graphic designer may be an entirely new experience, and therefore a little daunting. I want to give you the easiest and most relaxed experience possible. Below are some of my more frequently asked questions from clients and customers - however, if a question isn’t listed, I have provided a contact form at the bottom of the page if there's something you'd like to ask me.

I try to keep my terminology as user-friendly as possible but if there’s something you’re unsure about just ask!

I have a computer and Microsoft Word, why do I need to use a graphic design company?

Your branding and marketing is what defines you as a company. Everything from how your business card is designed to how easy your website is to navigate will give potential customers a feel for you as a business and a brand. Hiring a graphic designer is essential for any company that wants that professional and memorable look. Take a look at some of your favourite brands and businesses - do you think they designed their own logo? Or did they hire a professional to do it for them?

Graphic designers have years of knowledge and experience and work with so many different industries. We read up on the latest trends with fonts/colour schemes/fashion & so on - so we know what is going to make your brand stand out amongst the rest.

What design services do you provide?

I can design everything from logos to full page adverts and brochures. Take a look at my Services page for a better idea!

How does the process work? From enquiry to completion?

I start all projects the same way - I ask questions! I have a detailed sheet that I give each of my clients and ask them to fill it out and return it to me (this saves everyone time in the long run - I don’t want to bombard you with a string of emails every day because I forgot to ask something!)

From this I establish specific requirements which is known as “The Brief”. Your input is a crucial factor when it comes to design as there are thousands of ways a project can be designed; take a look at business cards for example - square, rectangle, rounded edges, soft touch finish, silky finish, spot gloss, double sided…. the possibilities are endless!

I then come up with 1-2 “concept” ideas - these are basic & brief but it gives you an idea of which design you’d like me to take further. Once you’ve chosen your design I then get to work finalising and completing the project. There are 3 rounds of amendments included within a project (1 round = 3 amendments = 9 amendments in total) so you can swap and change numerous aspects of the design and it’s all included within the price (please note, further amendments incur a small charge).

This process continues until you are 100% happy with the final design and then I hand everything over to you upon the final payment.

How will I receive the finished design?

Once I have received the final payment, I will supply all artwork to you in your chosen formats. (PDF/JPG/PNG…)

Who owns the copyright for the designs you produce?

Copyright for all work carried out by myself (CreuCreative) transfers to the client as soon as the balance has been settled in full.

I do, however, reserve the right to use any work for promotional purposes.

Will I be able to update or change these files on my computer?

I do not allow any clients to change the final designs on their end. Any changes to the design after sign off can be requested but this will incur a charge depending on what is required.

I need something by tomorrow - is this possible?

I understand that sometimes you need something done at very short notice and I am pretty accommodating when it comes to my clients. I can usually push forward “rush jobs” depending on the size of the project (business cards, leaflets, facebook posters etc are usually within my means) and depending on how full my production diary is.

If you're looking for a 20-page brochure by sunrise then I'm afraid you may need to be a little more lenient with me. I'm a designer, not a miracle worker unfortunately!

These jobs are usually subject to an additional charge on top of the project cost. Print items may not be eligible for "rush jobs" depending on day and time of request.

What are your payment terms?

For all projects I ask for 50% of the total fee as a deposit to begin works.

Your deposit contribution will be deducted from the final bill.

If you require print - we will need the full amount sent to us before anything goes to print. Don't worry, we never send anything to print unless it has your final approval!

We accept the following payment methods:

Bank Transfer (UK)

PayPal (International clients)
